Cog designs for Edge to edge

UPDATE: This class has been reformatted and is now available to purchase individually as a course if you do not have a subscription on IQ Summit to watch the replay.
You can find it inside the Academy to work through included in the Gold Member group or you can purchase separately.

What a fun and informative class we have had this morning with Tonia Brooks of Brookston Designs

90 minutes of designing, tips and tricks using your Intelliquilter system.

It was fun writing down all the tools that Tonia used in todays class, so I thought I would share them all with you again here.

  1. Path pattern
  2. Split tool
  3. Repeat pattern
  4. Distort tool
  5. Magnet tool
  6. Stretch tool
  7. Scale tool
  8. Combine pattern
  9. Echo pattern
  10. Update tool
  11. Create and save elements

Then there were tips on

  • planning a design for E2E ie: square, rectangle or chevron interlocking style
  • balancing a design
  • direction of stitching
  • order of stitching
  • minimising fabric drawup

The replay is up on the website now – you can find it here

As always it is FREE to watch live and for 12hrs from when it went live. After that if you have subscribed to IQ Summit then you can watch it at your leisure.

Tonia has been very generous once again and provided a free pattern to you all to use on your own Intelliquilter. Plus a discounted detailed E2E cog pattern so you don’t have to do all the work yourself! If you registered for the webinar you will receive the discount link in an email later today to take advantage of this. The FREE design link can be found under the video replay (link above) on the right hand side.

Challenge – Making blocks

Create a new block to share – and watch Tonia design a pattern to fit inside in a future class. We will choose a couple of these to show you how. Please post these blocks either in the Friends using Intelliquilter Facebook group or here on this page!

Thanks for so many joining us for the latest class on ‘Making Blocks’ on the Intelliquilter summit.

The replay is available now for you to watch forever if you have the All Access Early Bird pass.

Kay Durham This made my quilt map designing SO MUCH easier and time saving to decide what patterns to use and will allow me to make and see option for secondary designs. Whoohooo “) Each class is more interesting than last and I see more potential with IQ. Thank you both so much!🥳🥰

Paula Moser-Spaulding Thank you!! Definitely opened up some new ideas for me!

Helen Baczynski A great class, as always. Thank you.

I have recently discovered that even after two emails to all that have registered, that some did not get the notification of this added class in time to register to receive reminder emails.

I will regularly be adding classes, as this is the aim of this evergreen summit – to continue to add great content for you to learn and be challenged on. So after some help from support, I have turned on an automatic notification that you will receive for ALL classes that occur. This does mean that you will receive email reminders for everything and I really hope that this is not too much? If you find it so, then please use the links at the bottom of the emails to reduce the number of reminders that you are receiving on all of these. I would hate to upset you with too many.

This way no-one should miss out on the live classes by not seeing emails hopefully.

Next class is:

Intelliquilter Toolbox – Fans for new patterns by Tonia Brooks

Sunday 26th April 9am AEST

How do Fan patterns work when I want a new design from a pattern that isn’t supposed to do that.

We both look forward to having you on this next LIVE class where you will be amazed by the new patterns that you can create yourself.

Flexible education

Intelliquilter Summit is hopping!

I’m thrilled with the interaction of attendees on our Intelliquilter Machine Quilting Academy Summit.

Whilst tech can be challenging for us all, I believe this platform is allowing so many more to participate at a price that they can afford.

Yesterday I was thrilled to receive the FIRST of special photos from Anya in Montana, who has taken information from two classes and has been having so much fun simply playing with the possibilities. Now who else has pushed themselves to play more?

Anya from Montana – love it!
Love these swags – my favourite. Fabricating festhers I can also see…

Send me your play quilts and also customer quilts (with permission) showing any techniques you have learned so far.

Just a reminder that the Early Bird All Access Pass is ONLY available until the 10th class goes LIVE on the summit. Thereafter will be a new pricing structure. More details on this after the 8th live session is completed.

Looking forward to receiving more inspirational photos!
